Sachin 200 Not Out

Batting maestro Sachin Tendulkar added another feather to his cap when he became the first batsman to cross the 200-run mark in an one-day international at Captain Roop Singh Stadium in Gwalior on Wednesday.

Tendulkar achieved the unique landmark when he run a single off Langeveldt against South Africa in the second one-dayer of the ongoing three-match series. Sachin's 200 came off 147 balls, which include 25 fours and 3 sixes.

The master surpassed the previous highest individual score made by Pakistan's Saeed Anwar (194 against India in 1997) and Charles Coventry of Zimbabwe (194 not out against Bangladesh in 1999).

Tendulkar started his innings aggressively and made a quick-fire 37-ball fifty before finally completing his century in 90 balls. Sachin extended his lead for the record of most number of centuries to 17 as Ricky Ponting lies in the second place with 29 centuries. Tendulkar continued his record breaking form as he had slammed his 46th Test ton in the final match of the longer version of the game against the Proteas earlier.

French Ad Shocks, but Will It Stop Young Smokers?

A new French antismoking advertisement aimed at the young that plays off a pornographic stereotype has gotten more attention than even its creators intended, and critics suggest that it offends common decency and creates a false analogy between oral sex and smoking.

France has banned smoking in cafes, bars and restaurants. But smoking is still increasing among the young in France, according to the French Office for the Prevention of Smoking, prompting an antitobacco organization called Droits des Non-fumeurs, or Nonsmokers’ Rights, to create the ad.

Smelly passenger kicked off flight

Air travelers already have to deal with unruly passengers, excessively talkative ones and many other types who make flying miserable. But a new low may just have been reached for weary road warriors: The overwhelmingly smelly passenger.

A man on Jazz Air, a regional airline in Canada that also serves U.S. cities, was reportedly kicked off a plane earlier this month because of his strong body odor. "People were just mumbling and staring at him," said a woman who sat near the man, according to The Guardian, a newspaper in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, where the flight originated on February 6. It was a very uncomfortable situation, she added. Another passenger described the smell as "brutal." Jazz Air spokeswoman Manon Stuart confirmed that a passenger was "deplaned" from the flight, but she could not provide specific information about the person involved or the reason why he was asked to leave because of privacy issues.

"As an airline, the safety and comfort of our passengers and crew are our top priorities. Therefore, any situation that compromises either their safety or comfort is taken seriously, and in such circumstances, the crew will act in the best interest of the majority of our passengers," Stuart said. "It's important to understand that our crew members make every effort to resolve a situation before it becomes an issue. Unfortunately, in some circumstances, it may become necessary for our crew to remove passengers." The airline, like most air carriers, doesn't have a specific policy covering body odor, Stuart said.

Tom Cruise set for fourth Mission

Apparently, nothing's impossible. Tom Cruise has committed to reprise his role as Ethan Hunt in the next installment of the "Mission: Impossible" series at Paramount. The action tentpole, which is being co-financed by David Ellison's Skydance Prods., is now slotted for release on Memorial Day weekend 2011.

The reunion between Cruise and the studio once looked unlikely after Cruise's production deal there was cut loose in 2006, the year "Mission: Impossible III" was released. But both parties have recognized the promise in continuing a franchise that has grossed $1.4 billion worldwide.
Cruise has been on board to produce the fourquel with "M:I3" director J.J. Abrams since June. They have handed off an original idea to screenwriters Josh Applebaum and Andre Nemec, who wrote for Abrams' spy series "Alias."
The studio and producers are now out to directors, as Abrams has not signed on to helm the followup. With the "Mission" greenlight, Paramount has re-upped another franchise to join forthcoming sequels to 2009 hits "G.I. Joe," "Transformers" (July 2011) and "Star Trek" (June 2012), plus new franchise "The Adventures of Tintin" (Christmas 2011).

Paramount has released Cruise vehicles "Top Gun," "Days of Thunder," "The Firm," "War of the Worlds," "Vanilla Sky" and "Tropic Thunder," which featured the star in a rare secondary comedic role. Since toplining "Valkyrie" two years ago, the CAA-repped Cruise next stars in the Fox action-comedy "Knight and Day," hitting theaters Fourth of July weekend.

Allison Masalan's Blast Off

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Allison Maslan, author of "Blast Off!". All opinions are 100% mine.

I am a firm believer that people and books come into your life at a specific time on purpose. Every book I’ve picked up has come at just the right time when I needed it. So it really shouldn’t come as a surprise that I was asked by SocialSpark to review Allison Maslan’s book, Blast Off! The Surefire Success Plan to Launch Your Dreams into Reality.

I am working on growing Egg in a major way this year. This book was perfect to help me visualize what I want and help me develop steps toward my goal. It is the best book on change I have read since E-myth Revisited.

Allison mentions this at the start of the book, but I’ve read a lot of self help or change books that get me feeling really positive about whatever it is I want to change, but leave me flat because they don’t tell me what to do next. Blast Off! is the exact opposite of that. It walks you through visualizing your goal and gives you little assignments in each chapter to help you achieve those goals.

I love this book. I don’t say that much. I plan to reread it every time I have something I want to change. The book was just launched on Amazon, Borders, Barnes and Noble websites on January 19, so it’s still brand spanking new. It will soon be found in your local bookstore too. The book is available on Amazon for about $16 right now, but I think that’s a sale and it’ll go up to $24, so get yours now! That’s an amazing price for a book that is so valuable. Also Allison is giving away some gifts to people who buy the book, so after you buy it go here and follow the steps to get your free gifts.

Allison also gave me access to her Blastation Interactive Software, which lets you complete those assignments and store them in one easy-access place online. I preferred using this to writing in my journal. There is a tab for each component of your life. Wealth, Career, Relationship, Spiritual life, Health, Personal fulfillment. You just fill out the tasks under each one. You can add an image to help you visualize what you’re aiming for. Overall pretty useful software. You can get a 30 day free trial and then it’s $19.95 a month.

So now I have a copy I want to give away (I actually have 2 but will be giving one away on Twitter today so make sure you’re paying attention). If you want to win, leave a comment telling me what you want to change about your life (you don’t have to go in extreme details if you’d rather be private about it, but let us know why you want and need Allison’s book).

Spider-Man 4 in 3D

The new "Spider-Man" plans to swing closer to movie theater audiences.

As the director of the first three Spiderman films, Sam Raimi, recently stepped down as the director of the fourth Spiderman film because of the Summer 2011 release date, saying that this date would decrease the integrity of the film. Soon after this, Sony Pictures completely stopped production on the film, saying that the entire series will be rebooted in 2012 with a new cast, new story and a new director.

The next Spidey movie will be filmed in 3-D and is scheduled for release July 3, 2012, Sony Pictures announced Wednesday. The fourth installment is being directed by "(500) Days of Summer" filmmaker Marc Webb following the departure of Sam Raimi and Tobey Maguire, the director and star who worked on the previous three "Spider-Man" films.

Production on the next film, which will focus on a younger version of the superhero, will begin later this year.

USA's world cup chances against England

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of WorldCupCompanions. All opinions are 100% mine.

What will be the most exciting event in 2010 for sports lovers?
Football fans will shout aloud: the answer will definitely be the 2010 Football World Cup, which is scheduled to take place between 11 June and 11 July 2010 in South Africa. According to reports, the game has already matched the 2008 Summer Olympics as the sports event with the most competing nations. In the World Cup 2010, USA’s first match will be against England.

USA opens against England in Rustenburg on June 12 in the first World Cup match, since the American's 1-0 victory at the 1950 tournament in Brazil. It was with interest that I noticed that USA is in World Cup 2010. Not too sure how they will be doing. I have checked the World Cup odds and they are down at 66/1 which are not good odds at all. Their first match is against England, so they may even get unstuck in the first round. Going back on my memories, I do not seem to recall anyone siding with USA in the World Cup; there were more than enough teams to choose from and USA never seemed to have a good track record when it comes to football (or soccer as they might call it)

Now with the U.S.A. participating in World Cup 2010 it's hard to know how much impact they will have, for the last few years their game has seen steady improvement, possible down to more foreign players coming into their game such as David Beckham who interestingly will be playing for England when they face the U.S.A. so no doubt he will be up against some very familiar faces.

No one knows exactly what to expect yet. But that is exactly the best part of such kind of world cup games. The expectation of unknown result makes it especially exciting and attractive. If you are planning for a trip to South Africa during the world cup period, this great sport event should definitely be scheduled into your travel plan. Browse online today for more official information about the game. Enjoy this summer, getting crazy with the enthusiast football fans.

Create Awareness

Started on 1st December 1988, World AIDS Day is about raising money, increasing awareness, fighting prejudice and improving education. The World AIDS Day theme for 2009 is 'Universal Access and Human Rights'. World AIDS Day is important in reminding people that HIV has not gone away, and that there are many things still to be done.

According to UNAIDS estimates, there are now 33.4 million people living with HIV, including 2.1 million children. During 2008 some 2.7 million people became newly infected with the virus and an estimated 2 million people died from AIDS.1Around half of all people who become infected with HIV do so before they are 25 and are killed by AIDS before they are 35.2

The vast majority of people with HIV and AIDSlive in lower- and middle-income countries. But HIV today is a threat to men, women and children on all continents around the world.

Microsoft plans 250GB disk add-on for Xbox 360

Microsoft will begin selling in Japan next month an add-on 250GB hard-disk drive for the Xbox 360 console, it said Monday.

The drive will go on sale on March 11 and will cost US$172. Its launch in Japan will mark the first time Microsoft has offered a 250GB drive add-on for the Xbox 360 as a stand-alone unit. The drive has been available overseas since late last year but only in a bundle with a new console.
Microsoft has no current plans to put it on sale as a stand-alone unit outside of Japan, said Kei Iwasaki, a Microsoft spokesman in Tokyo.

The new drive more than doubles storage capacity from the 120GB drive available on the current Xbox 360 Elite console. The drive is used to store downloaded software, TV shows, movies and other content from Microsoft's Xbox Live Marketplace online store.

Local storage on the console is becoming more important to Microsoft as it attempts to expand its online store and generate additional revenue from entertainment content. Throughout 2009 the company continued to attract users to its Xbox Live service and ended the year with 29 million users, up 35 percent from the last day of 2008.

Rival Sony recently re-launched its PlayStation 3 console and includes a 120GB drive in each unit as it too works on expanding online sales of content such as movies and game downloads.
