T20 World cup fever is high..

The twenty20 world cup'09, which is scheduled for next year in England has set fire among audiences for reserving their seats in the England stands.

The event organisers for the world cup twenty20 next are amazed by the audience response for the events ticket reservation. People started booking their seats right from early morning on monday (30th june 2008) through phone lines and websites for reserving their seats for the event thats gonna be staged next year by the mont of june.

The tounament diretor Steve Elworthy said to the England and Wales Cricket Board(ECB)

"When ticket lines opened this morning there were literally thousands in the queue waiting to register to purchase tickets for the event in June next year".

"I am told by Ticketmaster, who are handling the tickets, that the demand has been the equivalent of that for a Robbie Williams or Madonna concert. It is that huge so we apologise to those who couldn’t get through or who have been waiting in the queue for some time".

"Ticket prices have been tailored to ensure as many people as possible can afford to watch the 17-day, 27-match, 12-team event that also includes an eight-team women’s tournament, with 15 matches in 11 days, running alongside it".

"A key feature of the 2009 event is that 20 of the match-days will include two games showcasing four international teams. This double-header format allows spectators to view two games for the price of one match-day ticket".

Twenty20 cricket has attracted massive global interest this year with the launch of the Indian Premier League and the announcement of a lucrative eight-team Champions League.

A place to hangout - Marrybrown

Hi friends...

I know that most of you would have heard about Marrybrown( and this post is for people who wanna know more about Mb more than jus its name). But I'm pretty sure Mb wont be the place of your choice, when many of you plan to hang out with your friends.

Even I was one among you all, until I had my first visit to Mb @ Mayajaal. I always go with the burgers of KFC and McDonald since it has been in chennai. But later, after being to Mb couple of times to the Adyar outlet with my friends I found Mb worth the money we pay. They have two separate places, take away at the ground floor and dine at first floor, a decent first floor for dining with your friends and a perfect place to hang out with your gal/boy, as not many will be there in weekdays.

They have a variety of burgers both veg and non-veg that tastes really good, starting at a very cheap price of Rs.25 which u would spend on a pav-bhaji in your near by chat shops. Even McDonalds offers you burgers for tat money, but in Mb they even provide you with those hot crispy chicken pieces like KFC, but not to the taste of KFC .

Its not over yet, there is more for you to reduce the weight of your wallets. Take a look at this menu card and I'm sure you will try Mb once.

If you try Mb, jus give your comments to me about it here.... Even if you have already visited give your comments, as it would help others...

Singur 'challenges' may make Tata Nano costly

Tata Motors may lose out on some future customers soon.

The cost of the Nano project at the Singur plant in West Bengal has shot up to Rs 2,000 crore, which is up by Rs 300 crore since January this year. The initial project cost in 2006 was Rs 1,000 crore. The company says it has been forced into regressive mode due to waterlogging at the site during the monsson last year.

However, the Tata small car Nano is likely to roll out of the Singur factory during the Durga Puja in October this year. Tata Motors said it is working hard to make it on time. All this comes in the backdrop of protests against the project.

Kant made his first site visit since the panchayat elections to the project site at Singur on Friday when 12 rounds of tear gas shells had to be fired by the police to disperse an agitating mob.

A company statement said that he was on a routine visit to assess the plant’s progress. The plant has witnessed violent clashes in the recent past as villagers allege their land was forcefully taken from them.

According to reports, the Managing Director said over the last two years the company had overcome a number of challenges, which had resulted in cost overrun.

The cheapest car was planned years ago as a safer and more affordable alternative to motorbikes and scooters.

Spain Lifts Euro'08

Spain claimed their first major title for 44 years after winning Euro 2008 with a deserved victory over Germany.

Liverpool striker Fernando Torres was Spain's goal hero, striking after 33 minutes when he cleverly lifted Xavi's pass over Germany keeper Jens Lehmann.

Spain dominated the final throughout, with Torres heading against the post and Marcos Senna almost adding a second from close range after 80 minutes.

Michael Ballack came close for Germany, shooting narrowly wide after the break.

Spain have long had a reputation as under-achievers on the big occasions, but this was a richly-merited victory for veteran coach Luis Aragones and a team that played outstanding football throughout the tournament.

Germany were outclassed, and for captain Ballack his catalogue of misery in major finals continues having lost two Champions League finals and also been suspended for the 2002 World Cup final when they lost to Brazil.

Match-winner Torres enhanced the reputation he forged at Liverpool last season, but this was an all-round effort for a side that is young enough to already be marked down among the favourites for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

Germany were lifted by Ballack declaring himself fit after a calf injury - but he had little impact on a first 45 minutes in which Spain were the vastly-superior side.

Andres Iniesta almost created the opening goal for Spain in the 13th minute when his driven cross took a deflection off Christoph Metzelder, but Lehmann pulled off a fine reflex save.

And they came even closer nine minutes later when Torres rose to meet Sergio Ramos's cross, but his header bounced to safety off the post.

But he was not to be denied and put Spain ahead with a trademark piece of sharpness in front of goal after 33 minutes.

Xavi's pass created uncertainty for Germany defender Philipp Lahm and Torres shrugged him off the ball to lift a superb finish beyond Lehmann.

Germany's problems threatened to worsen when Ballack needed lengthy treatment for an eye wound after a clash of heads with Marcos Senna.

David Silva then wasted a perfect opportunity to double Spain's advantage when he was set up by Iniesta, but he rushed his finish and shot wildly over the top.

Germany made a change at half-time, sending on Marcell Jansen for Lahm, but it was still Spain who dominated.

Xavi and Silva were both off target - but Germany were sticking to their task and almost grabbed an equaliser when Ballack shot just wide after Carles Puyol had conceded possession in a dangerous area.

Spain continued to look the more threatening side, but there was still the lingering prospect of Germany's refusal to accept defeat yielding an unlikely equaliser.

Silva was fortunate to stay on the pitch when he appeared to motion to head-butt Germany's Lukas Podolski, but Italian referee Roberto Rosetti decided against taking any action.

Ramos should have put the game beyond Germany's reach after 66 minutes when he headed straight at Lehmann from point-blank range as he got on the end of Xavi's free-kick.

Iniesta then had a shot cleared off the line by Torsten Frings and another effort saved by Lehmann as Spain looked in the mood to add a second.

And Germany had a remarkable escape after 80 minutes when substitute Daniel Guiza - on for Torres - headed the ball straight into Senna's path right in front of goal, but he could not apply the final touch.

Spain were not made to pay for their generosity in front of goal and ran out worthy winners.

Captaincy 'fun' for Pietersen despite defeat

Kevin Pietersen insisted his debut as England's captain has been "great fun" despite a 51 run loss to New Zealand in the fifth one-day international at Lord's.

Victory for Black Caps in the final match of this campaign saw them win the NatWest Series 3-1.

Pietersen, standing in as skipper for Paul Collingwood as the Durham all-rounder began a four-match ban for England's slow over-rate in their one-wicket defeat at The Oval on Wednesday, only scored six. But the star batsman insisted captaincy hadn't affected his form and said he was still keen to lead the team against his native South Africa at the start of August's one-day series, when Collingwood will still be banned.

"Today was great fun and if I get the opportunity I will do the job like I did today," said Pietersen after Saturday's defeat.

"The thing for me is I am a perfectionist and I strive on doing things really well, to the best of my ability and being successful.

"Finishing today without a victory gives me an incentive to get the 'stripes' back again, to try to get a victory under the belt.

"I don't want to be an England captain who captains one game and loses it."

Porsche Design P9521

Porsche Design P9521

The Porsche Design phone, the first to come out of the Porsche Design stable. This stable applies itself to building and designing only quality products. Products range across clothing, sports accessories, toys and even washbasin taps. Anyway, most of these products are for the rich-and-famous who get a kick out of throwing dough on quirky possessions. Well, the same rationale works for the Porsche Design Phone as well.

For their first phone, the Porsche Design team has teamed up with Sagem Mobiles. While the brand may not be the most reputed, it still has quite a presence in European markets and also a few decent handsets to its name.

Build & Design:

The Porsche Design P9521 has an awesome build quality. It's crafted from a single block of real aluminum. That makes it a little too heavy for a style statement, but thr

ow it at someone and you have an expensive murder on your hands. The use of dark mineral glass prevents the screen from getting scratched but unfortunately attracts fingerprints. Behind the glass hides an OLED screen, which displays time, alerts, track name, and flashes its model number when in standby.

Features :

There are few unique features in the P9521 apart from the fact that it's a Porsche Design phone.

Fingerprint Scanner

The Fingerprint Scanner is a good idea to keep all your data safe. The only way to bypass the scanner is a code, which you can configure. You get a few tries with the code and the phone locks if you get it wrong. So if someone manages to flick the phone, yo

u know at least your data is safe. You can use the Fingerprint Scanner to either lock your memory card or Message Inbox or Phonebook or all of it, including the entire phone.

Fingerprint Navigation

The most unique thing about the Porsche Design P9521 is its Fingerprint Navigation. This navigation works only when the flip screen of the phone has been twisted. Twisting the screen starts the camera by default. The fingerprint navigator then helps go through all the settings if you need to make any. The interface is simple and swipes of the finger running across or on the line of the scanner were easily detected.

The same goes for controlling browsing and playback in the media player through the fingerprint scanner.

Multimedia :

The multimedia capability of the phone is good. I liked both the sound and the vide

o playback. T

he music quality was good with the stereo headset provided. There are lots of equalizer presets to choose from, and I found the Dance preset to be the best. The head

set has a remote control wherein you can play/pause and go to previous/next tracks. There is a volume control as well. As I mentioned earlier wit

h the auto-rotate screen, it's a pleasure to watch the video without having to go through unnecessary clicks. And playback controlled by the fingerprint navigation made it quite pleasurable

Contents :

The Porsche Design P9521 phone came packed beautifully - in a cardboard briefcase with two boxes, one for the phone and one for accessories. The packaging may seem large for the stuff it contained, but the Porsche Design team ear

ns a plus point for presentation.

Box One :

- Porsche Design P9521

- Stereo Headset with Remote (3.5mm Jack)
- 2GB Memory Card
- SD Card Adaptor
- USB Cable
- Charger
- Software Suite

- User Guide

Box Two :

- Leather Cover
- Porsche Design Bluetooth Headset

- Bluetooth Headset Ear-hook

- Bluetooth Headset Adaptor
- Charger

Conclusion :

The Porsche Design P9521 sells for a mind-boggling Rs 77,000. The price knocked my breath out. Now, having recovered my breath, I remember that it's a Porsche phone for Porsche-type people. The phone is obviously not meant to be seen in every other hand, and therefore, the pricing is bang-on. These people are not interested in volumes of sales. They are more interested in seeing this phone in the hands of the rich and famous. This may not be something that a common man can comprehend logically, because this phone is simply not worth it. To some people, though, the Porsche branding could just nullify everything else.

New Windows..

Bill Gates reveals information about Windows 7...

Bill Gates revealed some exciting new information about the upcoming next Microsoft operating system codenamed Windows 7. He spoke at the Windows Digital Lifestyle Consortium in Tokyo and had the following to say about Windows 7.

"
We’re hard at work, I would say, on the next version, which we
call Windows 7. I’m very excited about the work being done there. The ability to be lower power, take less memory, be more efficient, and have lots more connections up to the mobile phone, so those scenarios connect up well to make it a great platform for the best gaming that can be done, to connect up to the thing being done out on the Internet, so that, for example, if you have two personal computers, that your files automatically are synchronized between them, and so you don’t have a lot of work to move that data back and forth."

Previous assumptions that Microsoft would indeed avoid a Vista 2 and make Windows 7 faster and resource friendly seem to come true. Connectivity seems to be another keyword that is taken seriously in Windows 7.

you've seen something that would replace your PC in the near future....

The presentation you have just read is based on an experimental product called the P-ISM, described by NEC designers as a "Pen-style Personal Networking Gadget Package." A prototype of the system, which cost a reported $30,000 to build, was unveiled at ITU Telecom World in 2003.

The concept is outlined as follows on the NEC Design Web site:

We have visualized the connection between the latest technology and the human, in a form of a pen. P-ISM is a gadget package including five functions: a pen-style cellular phone with a handwriting data input function, virtual keyboard, a very small projector, camera scanner, and personal ID key with cashless pass function. P-ISMs are connected with one another through short-range wireless technology. The whole set is also connected to the Internet through the cellular phone function. This personal gadget in a minimalistic pen style enables the ultimate ubiquitous computing.

MOTOZINE ZN5

Hi Guys,
This bein my first post..I thought it b a gud idea to start of wit Mobiles..Without which u cant pass ur day....

Finally, Motorola's much-rumored phone in association with Kodak, has been announced. The MOTOZINE ZN5 is 'multimedia-optimized' like the upcoming ZINE series of which it's a part, says Motorola.

The MOTOZINE ZN5 is a candy bar-type 5 mega pixels camera phone that draws upon Kodak's imaging expertise. The phone's camera is almost like a digicam in featuring the ability to click photos in landscape mode, a sliding lens cover, Xenon flash, auto-focus, and 4x digital zoom. The ZN5 marries ModeShift Technology (like in the MOTOROKR E8) with Kodak imaging support to stand out amongst other MOTO phones.

Besides GSM, the MOTOZINE ZN5 (unlike the RAZR, KRZR, etc) is Wi-Fi-enabled. The ZN5 comes with Kodak EasyShare as well as MotoTools software for transfer to the PC. The phone supports Bluetooth and microSD expansion up to 4GB.

Other features include support for quad-band GSM and EDGE, Motorola CrystalTalk technology, FM radio, etc. And as is becoming the norm, the phone will first be released in China followed by other markets across the globe.
